TO APPLY:

Every volunteer, whether new or returning volunteer, will need to create a new record. Additionally, everyone will need to submit the volunteer agreement. You will have to click "submit" on both the contact and the skills pages in order to get to the agreement page.

Happy Volunteers Returning volunteers DO need to attend one of the volunteer calls in January. Local volunteers who are not able to attend one of the volunteer calls should contact a Volunteer Coordinator after January 26, and arrange to come by the DFEST offices to complete their application.

All new and returning volunteers must be sure to complete their ENTIRE database profile, including contact information, skills, and the volunteer agreement. You will have your photo taken at the volunteer call.

NOTE: Volunteers will watch a brief orientation video about Dfest. They will have a chance to talk with staff and crew chiefs, and ask questions about the crew schedules and responsibilities.

Out-of-town volunteers:
If you live beyond the surrounding Tulsa Metro Area, you must apply as an Out-of-Town volunteer.

We accept a limited number of out-of-town volunteers each year. Out-of-town volunteers must fill out an online application, but you are not expected to attend the Volunteer Calls.

After filling out the online application, and making travel and lodging arrangements, you must contact a Volunteer Coordinator to get information about available Event crews. Out-of-town volunteers are not eligible for Music Production crews.

Out-of-town volunteers are responsible for all of their own travel and lodging arrangements, and must be in Tulsa by 6:00pm on Thursday, July 23, 2009.

The deadline for out-of-town volunteer applications is May 31, 2009. Complete applications must include travel and lodging arrangements.

TYPE OF VOLUNTEER:

To complete your online application, you must select the type of volunteer crew you want to work for. The two different types are Event and Music Production. There is a distinct difference between the two types of work, as well as the types of perks available.

Sign up Today! Event volunteers have a wide variety of crew options. Event crews operate during the conference and the festival. These crews include Information, Conference Access, Registration, Hospitality, Panels crews and many more.

Event volunteers accrue hours toward a perk of their choice.

Dfest Volunteers Rock! Music Production volunteers work ONLY during the Music Festival (July 23-25, 2009). Music Production volunteers may ONLY earn All-Event badges - as they have access to the Festival since they will be working.

Music Production volunteers must work both nights during the Music Festival, typically on a stage crew or the Special Venues crew. Other Music Production crews include Outdoor Stage Crew, Production Labor, Production Relief and Production Tech. Stage Managers also fall under the Music Production volunteer umbrella. Stage Managers work as a liaison between DFEST venues and performers. They are responsible for managing the performance schedule and stage crew at one of the DFEST Music Festival venues. An extensive amount of of pre-event work, as well as availability throughout the Music Festival, is required.

Yoga volunteers have crews that help with the yoga conference event. Event crews operate during the conference and the festival. Perks include access to yoga classes when not working (limited access based on availability).

Green Team volunteers have crews that help with the recycling and beautifying of the festival event. Event crews operate during the festival.

Grissom Elementary P.T.A. volunteers are our official beverage crews for Dfest. Event crews operate during the festival.
